Billy C. already touched on it with this mornings show, but the guy is out of control. He thinks he's some kind of PhD in Psychology and can read everyones thoughts, but we've seen how well he's able to do with his fighters when he's tried to play psychologist and got them so screwed up they can't put one foot in front of the other. Lately, he's branched off into being a MindReader.........
But what REALLY FROSTS me is that he doesn't just question Kermit Cintron's motivation/resolve, but he lacks the guts to just say it. During Fridays discourse, he said no less than three times (at least) "I'm not saying that's what happened, but......". God Dammit when you go on the Air, then your ARE SAYING IT. Don't waste my time hedging things or sugar coating it. Either out and out say it or shut your acussing pie hole.

How about all the Tyson knocks? I said it today....the guy is WAY over-rated!

Well anyone who suggests Cintron threw himself out of the ring is an absolute idiot ... the much loved Johnny Bos included ...

How about all the Tyson knocks? I said it today....the guy is WAY over-rated! Even four years into retirement, Atlas still goes out of his way to take shots at Tyson, and I'm sure that for the rest of his announcing career that will remain the case......in fact, I think he loves it when somebody wants out of a fight just so he can bring up Mike Tyson's name.

Well anyone who suggests Cintron threw himself out of the ring is an absolute idiot ... the much loved Johnny Bos included ... Billy C. mentioned a clip that's on the Fightbeat Forum that apparently shows a different angle and calls Kermit intentions into question. I didn't find Nobleart's clip but then I was just visiting and maybe that makes a difference. I registered for the site and will look back later once I have full access.

yeah all he did was play it in slow motion ... plus in the clip you can clearly see William's right foot trip Cintron ...
I'm sorry but it really takes someone not to bright to think he did it on purpose ...

Mike- I didn't think the foot of Williams actually made contact, I was giving Cintron the benefit of the doubt in thinking that the little hop that Cintron takes was to avoid the foot. Whether one thinks he went out on purpose or not I can't say for sure, but I thought it pretty clear he wasn't tripped.

well, even if cintron tripped over pauls foot, he clearly wasn't TRIPPED by paul...therefore, no foul, accidental or otherwise. sorry to be saying the same thing on every post, but williams should have won by tko.
i like atlas. i totally agree with him that cintron didn't want to get back in that ring. that's the beautiful thing about boxing: you don't have to be a mindreader. the sport shows you what's in someone's heart.
i don't remember ever seeing diego corrales or arturo gatti or juan manuel marquez fall out of the ring and have to be taken out on a stretcher. they would have gotten up even if they couldn't stay on their feet. i'm putting cintron on my list of gutless fighters: victor ortiz, marvin sonsona, andrew golota, vitali klitschko (a permanent member of this list because of quitting against chris byrd. nothing erases that), and now kermit the frog.

I have no problem with someone saying Cintron didn't want back in the ring but saying he intentionally jumped out of the ring is moronic ... after watching the slomo thing again Cintron did hop a bit to miss Williams' leg which IMO is even more proof that he was off balance and fell

Mike...your new job is clearly clouding your eye sight! First off...its not in total slow-mo. Second, Cintron (who I did not pic but WANTED to win!!) takes one full step away from Paul, then leaps off his left foot through the ropes...a nice clean jump I might add. If you watch it, he also seems to guide himself a bit with his glove at the last minute! I will say this....I too thought that him trying to get out of the fight was BS! I had the fight even at that point and I also thought he was landing the harder shots. There was NO reason for him to want out of the fight....HOWEVER....really....after watching the isolated clip on FightBeat.com, I really wonder at this point. Watch it again with OBJECTIVE eyes....not your! Better yet...have your much better looking and more classy other half watch it!

I stumbled across a worthless Podcast that appears on the ESPN Boxing Site, not sure how long they’ve been doing these, but it’s Joe Tessitore, who’s not a Boxing guy but plays one on TV, getting 10 mins to ramble on about something Lee Groves has probably briefed him on beforehand, and pretend to be an expert (good thing it’s only 10 mins, huh?). First and last time I’ll ever listen to that, but I thought it would be of some interest because he has Teddy on there discussing the Cintron situation. For 10 mins and 21 seconds, Teddy continues on with his "I'm not saying that's case" or the shouted "MAYBE" while suggesting reasons to support Cintron wanting out, including Cintron not having the Amatuer experience that Williams has, which I think is just ludicrous. Yeah, it's POSSIBLE, we knew that without 10 mins of you telling us it's POSSIBLE. Yeah, people behave under pressure differently sometimes, we discovered that at places like Omaha Beach, you friggin' moron, I don't need psychology explained to me by you. Stick to Boxing, that which you know, leave the human mind to the experts. espn.go.com/boxing/

Sorry if I overreacted in that post, I just get kind of tired of being talked down to like I'm a first grader. Does he REALLY think we're so stupid that we don't realize it's POSSIBLE that Cintron or any fighter might want out of a fight? He's insulting his own audience when he makes an assumption like that. Yes, Teddy, sometimes people choose the easy path in Life, anyone over the age of Seven doesn't need a First Grade Teacher explaination of that.

Why are two of my choices for Boxing Analysis, Larry Merchant making Shakespeare references that if you know the Bard's work usually don't even fit the fight (and if they do then,so what?) and the opposite extreme of Teddy explaining the incredibly obvious?

So I am supposed to believe that Cintron in a matter of .01 of a second decided that "OMG Williams has fallen down and since I am stumbling anyways I will throw myself out of the ring and act like I am hurt, knowing full well that California will go to the scorecards and since I got lucky against Martinez maybe I will get lucky again" ...
Man I have to say if that is the case Cintron is the smartest SOB since Stephen Hawking ... sorry Billy C but in case you didn't know the Tooth Fairy isn't real either.
My opinion drops dramatically of anyone who realistically thinks Cintron dove out of the ring on purpose ... If Cintron threw himself out of the ring then every win Pac Man has had in the last 3 years has been fixed it's just as believable.
