14 days vs up to 24 hours. When it was finally revealed, it come out that: Mayweather gave blood and urine on March 22, April 1, April 13 and then May 1 after the fight. He gave urine only on April 3, April 6, April 21 and April 24. Mosley gave blood and urine on March 23, March 31, April 12 and then May 1 after the fight. He gave urine only on March 29, April 7, April 20 and April 26. The amount they need to test is such a ridiciulously small amount, doing it at the damn weigh-in(which they always seem to have about 48 hours before the fight anyway) is fine with me. The effect of a blood draw of a teaspoon will reportedly effect your performance for a few hours, not DAYS. It's the same for both fighters and the only way to eliminate HGH. The testing for Mayweather-Mosley when it was revealed, ended up being a complete joke. Only three draws, and the last one EIGHTEEN days before the fight. Travis Tygart of the USADA says that HGH can leave the bloodstream in 2 or 3 days and that the benefit of HGH can be achieved with a few days usage. He also says that HGH can't be detected by a urine sample. The USADA conducts "random" tests to combat all this illegal drug use and this is how they do it? They take 3 blood tests taken during a 3 week span in the middle of the camp and nearly 3 weeks before the fight? Here's the qoute from Tygart that seals it as far as a worthless test, after hearing of Pacquiao's conceeding to 14 days: “That totally misses the point,” Tygart said of the reaction some may have upon hearing of Pacquiao’s concession and the timing of Mayweather’s last blood test. “If you know you aren’t going to be tested within the last 14 days, you can cheat and get away with it. It is our right to test at any time, 30 days before the fight, 20 days before, the week of, the morning of – that provides the deterrent. If you block out a period of time and say we can’t test during that period, then an athlete could cheat and get away with it.” Mind you again, this is the guy THAT DID THE TESTING, basically saying the testing is worthless that far out. That Mayweather and Mosley only did 18 days out, made that worthless, and 14 days is equally worthless.

From what I understand you can cycle EPO in 5 days and it is out of your system ... so Manny not agreeing to 14 days the first time was just Arum playing his games ... 14 days out Manny can EPO all he wants ...

Agreed, Mike. All it did was show the whole ordeal we've had to go through was BS. From Arum making a big stink on the difference between 21 days and 14 days to Mayweather pointing to this Mosley fight as some kind of great breakthrough for the Sport when it was 18 days out.

Yeah that was my beef. People claiming that the benefit doesn't exist with 14 days of drug use, but surely it does!
And you just know the testers won't be rigerous or even make much of an effort to do numerous tests. Pretty much a half arsed effort is what I'd expect.

I am so sick of this BS...I don't care if they take the tests between the rounds of the fight for God's sake! If this fight does NOT happen...THIS year....screw BOTH of them!

I wish I could find the quote, but some Doctor who was an expert mentioned that a blood draw of one teaspoon, that's how small the sample is that they test, will effect performance for a couple hours TOPS. If 2 days is what it takes, then for the big fights then that's what fans deserve. We got a pissing contest going on over 14 days and 21 days, and even Mayweather praised his 18 day testing with Shane. Apparently the Testing sucks at detecting anything when it's got a window more than 2-3 days, so we've got a pissing contest going on just the sake of gamesmanship..........which is what most of us suspected all along. For me, the revelations of the details on the Mosley fight testing convinced me.
