I've enjoyed the increased number of Guests on the show lately, especially today when Lujan Simon joined us and also my old HOF Buddy Lee Groves was there to talk about his Book (BC, I had some question/comments I was to E-mail you, but I missed the Boat by a day, when you bumped him forward. Sorry about that).
Anyway, I know it's extra work for Billy C. (if he never has another author on after Lee's 738 pager, I wouldn't blame him ;D ) but we sure appreciate the extra effort.

We always have a good time with the guests....I have been told by most that they enjoy our style of interviewing....Lee...man, I wish I got to meet him up at IBHOF. We talked boxing for an hour and a half AFTER the show! Look for him to be on the show on a regular basis soon.

I met Lee at the Hall of Fame and purchased his book, but i was dissapointed when he signed it with a bloody sharpie pen.Being a large book collector i showed Lee how the ink had soaked through the page of his book. And i said always sign in biro as some collectors would not be to happy with him,he quickly discarded the sharpie and produced a biro.He is a nice guy and he thanked me for pointing out the error, saying that its a very good book but you got to be a weightlifter to read it because its so heavy. One year at the Hall of Fame Bert Sugar had a stall and was selling his book,i went over to purchase one handing over the money.Sugar opened the book and with sharpie in his hand said who should i sign it to.The look on his face when i said dont sign it your ruin the book,he almost threw it at me the arsehole. This year i also purchased the Bob Collins book on Rochester boxing,Bob had told me the previous year at the Hall of Fame he was writing the book.So a year ago i ordered 10 copies and Bob showed up with them this year and signed them all in biro a real pro. When i got back home i sent the Bob Collins books to friends as gifts, and they all said what a very good book it was.

BC- I love it, and yes I think your style of interviewing is probably refreshing to a lot of them. I know Lee would like nothing better than to stop by on a regular basis, the guy eats, sleeps, and lives for Boxing. Of all the fans I've met, he's the most obsessed ;D

DA- I actually own Lee Groves first autograph, and he writes underneath it "My first autograph" Brad Berkwitt put out a book of interviews he did when he was with Fightnews and Lee was one of them, so I as a joke I had him sign it for me while we both laughed. Who knew there would even be a second one? ;D He did it in Sharpie, so I guess I'm partly to blame for not correcting him at the time. As for Sugar, I know he does the Promo for BC's Show, but I've never been a big fan of his. He simply enjoys listening to himself talk too much, it's like that kid in school that was the "class clown" but they never really grew out of it, and at a certain point just became annoying. Telling the same jokes year after year after year (and often not even noticing that nobody else is lauging at a lot of them) and wearing Shower Curtains for Pants gets a little old.

P.S. Sometimes Burt Sugar does the panel discussion on the Ringside program that ESPN Classic shows on Sunday Nights where they look at a guys entire career in a two or three hour block of time. Anytime he picked against the eventual winner of a major fight and was wrong, Bert Sugar will say "I picked so and so to win (fill in name), but then I picked Japan in WW2". Between that and the HOF appearances, I've heard him tell that joke about three dozen times, and I'm sure he's told it a couple thousand times since 1941. Get new material already.

Murph...tell us how you REALLY feel about Bert! LOL.... LOL. Okay, on top of that, he's cheap It's kind of funny, but when Bert breifly had his Fightgame Magazine in the late 90's, he and Herb Goldman then of Boxing Illustrated (before it was Boxing Digest) used to exchange shots in the Editors Column of both magazines about that very subject. I tended to beleive Herb since he included facts and not just humor attempting insults When your at the HOF, I always enjoy watching them together during the Induction Ceremony on Sunday, they absolutely CAN'T STAND each other. When Goldman gets up and does his Tribute to Oldtimers and Poineers inductees that aren't with us (a big favorite with fans because he does it in a baritone Movie Newsreel Voice), watch Sugar's Face and he can barely stomach the guy. Okay, enough about Bert

Hello, everyone. I just joined the boards and I'm glad that the interview was well received. I am really looking forward to being a regular part of the show. Billy really makes it fun.
Thanks again for the correction, Darren. I made sure to ask those who bought the book at the IBHOF whether they wanted Sharpie or ball-point, making ball-point the default. Only one person insisted I use a Sharpie, even after I told him about bleed-through. Anything to satisfy the customer. :-)

Dallen...sorry for the typo. My eyes must be going. Your eyes are going? Did you read your whole book in one sitting or something? Just kidding, welcome Lee. You're closer than you know....in my efforts to get the book out as quickly as possible I spent all my waking hours for three straight days (14-16 hours a day) editing the manuscript. At the end my head was spinning and my eyes were burning but I got it done. Once I get going few things are going to stop me.
