First off I love it when a guy is showboating and gets dropped ....
Now I don't want to come off like I think Molina is a world beater because clearly he needs some work but with his lack of experience that was a very good win. He lost the first 5 or 6 rounds and came back to win the fight. Somewhere around the 5th he finally started throwing the jab.
If he could develop that jab he could be something because his right hand is brutal when it lands.
That said I think he just got hit in the face 5 more times since I made this post

When he stuck out his tonuge, I lost all respect for him. The KO was sweet. Maybe someone should give him the ratings to tear up again

The BEST part of Molina, aside from his power AND assuming he DOES remember to throw a jab every round as he moves on, is his whiskers! The kid has a chinny chin chin. Lundy DID land some hard shots and Molina was never hurt. I have seen several of his fights and he DOES take one well. I agree with MH that he needs to stop that shit! I say someone should sit him down and explain what DEFENSE is. Overall, I like him and like both MH and Murph...it WAS enjoyable to see a showboat, lets call a "clown" go.....down! ( AND YES...it WAS a good stoppage! He was hurt in the prior round and when he was put down the first time, how silly was he when he was saying it was a trip! A Trip! I have never seen a trip by a right hand!)

Two things that made it clearly a good stoppage was 1) when he dropped his hands like he was out for a second and 2) the fact that he didn't argue it until 3 or 4 minutes later

I thought Molina could've made the fight a bit easier by going to the Body more, Lundy had his hands up high and was left openings downstairs, but John was headhunting.
What was weird was when Lundy decided he'd rather use his right hand to hold onto the Ropes than block the lefthooks that were hitting his face. As for the stoppage, when you involuntarly drop your hands from a blow, then you can expect that to be called, and like Mike points out, anybody can argue about it three minutes later. I heard someone yelling a couple times from Lundy's Corner that the "Ref Sucks", well not as bad as your Fighters Defense, Pal. Yeah, I could've stood to see a few more shots land, what about you guys? ;D

I still like the "I tripped" line the best from Lundy! He tripped my ass!

I still like the "I tripped" line the best from Lundy! He tripped my ass! When I hear a guy spewing garbage like that, I simply Thank God that the fight was on TV and not a non-telivised afair where someone might beleive his nonsense if they heard it.

The problem is... A LOT of young fighters talk smack....somewhere along the line, it has become "the norm" which I hate.

Like you, I've NEVER been a big fan of talking smack, but at least back in our day it was limited to a James Toney or someone who'd actually accomplished something before they spouted off. Guys the level of a Hank Lundy used to be quiet as a mouse on the way up.

Right...the other thing was when ALI started it, everyone forgets now, but the people HATED him for it! NOW, 30 years later, everyone LOVES Ali, but there was a time when that was not the case! All because of smack talk....and it wasn't the norm like it is now....it was the exception!

All because of smack talk....and it wasn't the norm like it is now....it was the exception! Yep, everybody seems to think the country was split on Ali, but that wasn't until he was already in exile and the War became increasingly unpopular. There weren't five Ali fans in the entire country up to the Folley fight. It's hard to explain to young people how unpopular he was, it was kind of like if OJ had still be active during the time of his acquital

Billy C.- Yeah, I think a lot of people would see rejecting the Draft as a lot less than a double homicide........but they tend to forget that at that time, that was like publicly spitting on the Flag, and from a guy who already had the whole country tuning into his fights hoping to see him get his Ass kicked. Ali fans in the first career simply didn't exist, or those that were for him didn't openly admit it.

I know....I lived through it! I laugh at it today and how EVERYONE says how great he was, and even turn his antics as a positive! YES...he was GREAT and we may never get another like him....but man...even that is funny....how many times did he get his ass kicked and then GET the decision....I know I will forever remember Jimmy Young getting robbed in 1976 on ABC!
