Guys, Guys, Guys, his two Uncles pretty much dictated that Floyd wouldn't find again in 2010.
The obvious one being Uncle Roger likely in the Can, but the other one was the huge portion he'd have to pay his Uncle Sam.
As for the negotiations, I don't think either side tried all that hard. Arum was making a lot of noise, but then it finally came out that Arum himself had never spoken to Art Heyman or anyone with Team Mayweather. Instead, he says that he was relying on Ross Greenburg to pass along info. The same inept clown who's limited knowledge of boxing has driven HBO into the ground. After all the hot air, that's a little hard to beleive you busted your ass when in fact you went indirectly through a third party. I still think it was a smokescreen and he knew he was going to do another fight on Nov 12th all along.
As for the Mayweather side, now that the deadline has passed then they say there were never any real negotiations. Well, why didn't you speak up during the 3 or 4 weeks that Arum was saying there was a deal in principle that had beeh agreed upon? Ellerbe is trying to hide behind the so-called pledge not to negotiate in the Press when it suits him, but it's kind of hard to beleive they'd stick to that when the other side is making claims they've agreed to something they hadn't......and for more than a month.
In summary? I think we have a fighter who had no intention of fight anyone again this year, a Promoter who once again had a fight in mind OTHER than the one he was SUPPOSEDLY working feverishly on, and a public that's going to take any talk of a May fight with a grain of Salt. Fool me once shame on you, Fool me twice shame on me, try to Fool me three times with the same thing and nobodies listening anymore.....from iether side.
