You said the right thing...in HIS mind! Not in mine....I judge on who a guy fought not all 0's. But that's me I guess. Not really, the points you make are valid, but I just mean that it's hard to expect HIM to be able to see it. He's losing points on the Retirement and the Cherrypicking, but I think he sees the Zero as a license to say you could've done anything to anybody.

I always am amused by people who rave about Manny's competition at the same time as bad mouthing Floyd's ....
Their competition throughout their career is pretty much identical even recently. Manny has either handpicked easy opponents or taken guys who Floyd already smacked around. They get credit for Cotto & Mosley but take away those two and what do you have?
Floyd beat Hatton first when Hatton was undefeated ... then he went up to Oscar's actual weight and beat him. Manny beat Hatton at Hatton's weight but made Oscar drain himself to get there. At lightweight Manny picked David Diaz ... not anyone worth a crap. Clottey is an extremely limited fighter and everyone should have known that was a blow out. Meanwhile Floyd makes JMM come to a weight he couldn't make even while holding 5 burrito's and then Floyd doesn't make the agreed upon weight.
Now Manny takes on Margarito ... the guy who was demolished by the guy Floyd just dominated. If Floyd were to take on Martinez that would probably be the most impressive fight either of them has fought in quite a while. The same media that claims Floyd is dodging Manny gives Manny a pass for dodging JMM.
The two are not that different ... IMO the only difference and for those Manny nuthuggers it is a big one is that Manny is making zero decisions while Floyd makes all his.
I believe Manny will fight anyone anytime but his people are worried about a loss ... I believe Floyd won't fight until Floyd is ready and like most say he is concerned about his 0

Mike- I think I said something earlier in the thread (I'm on a few different sites and sometimes get them confused) about Floyd having the better resume up to the point of where he started angling for (and got) the De La Hoya fight and then retired. At 130 he took on everybody, many seem unwilling or are conveniently forgetful of that early period. But in this world, it's all "what have you done for me lately". The circumstances surrounding taking on Mosley detract from a bit from PBF's Credit, because lets face it, he really DIDN'T want to take that fight. The fallout of the Manny negotiations and the Earthquake in Haiti left him little choice, correct? It wasn't exactly by design that he fought Mosley. But he DID fight him, and if your going to just look at things on paper, then he got shortchanged in the Credit Department.........or as usually happens with Floyd, he beat people to the punch and patted himself on the Back so much, that nobody else bothered to I'm going to give Manny a LOT of flack for this catchweight crap, which appears to ONCE AGAIN be the case, but I seem to be in the minority. People just look at the opponent, not that they might be handicapped. This isn't horseracing where you add and subtract weight to the Ponies, Folks. As far as Manny getting a pass on facing Marquez, well that's pretty common, and even though I agree that Arum's removed JMM's number from his directory prematurely (I sure don't think it's settled, I had Marquez ahead 1-0-1 myself), I think it's traditionally VERY HARD to make a case for Ducking someone when we're talking a third fight. In summary, Manny's the lighter guy and that has it's advantages, as does having a Promoter that EVERYONE hates that seems to absorb ALL the criticism, leaving Manny wearing a Teflon Suit. Floyd on the other hand, like you said, makes all his choices and isn't well liked by anyone to begin with. In a PR War, it's quite simply a bigger mismatch than the fight itself could ever be.
