David Haye the supposed new thing at HW runs his mouth quicker then a Porche with a turbo charger about what he will do to the Klitschko's (Wlad in particular)...Then finds every out he possibly can to not make the fight happen...His poor back had a BOO BOO Now Povetkin who seemed hyped up on his bout with Wlad suddenly has a sinus infection .. What is going on with these guys?....Is Wlad the unluckiest guy in the sport when it comes to getting guys to defend against or are these guys just all having coincidental injuries and illness when it comes time to sign the ink? Peter/Wlad 2? That fight is as about as anticipated as watching paint dry

Very poor management on the part of Povetkin's people, they entered him into the four man IBF HW Elimination Tournament nearly 3 years ago (most people forget that, it was Byrd,Chambers,Brock, and Povetkin) when he was just 13-0, never giving much thought to what lay ahead if he won it. From Byrd and Chambers, he backtracks and faces the Leo Nolans and Javier Moras of the World. If they didn't think he was ready, then they should've never jumped the gun. How long is the IBF going to keep him at #1? Forever?

It's amazing the number of people I've talked to that don't seem to recognize that Wlad's improved over the last five years and Sam Peter's taken a giant hit. It was a pretty good fight in 2005, but they've both gone opposite directions ever since. I vote for Paint Drying with watching Metal Rust a close Second and Wlad-Peter II a distant Third.

I don't know the signing to fight a Klitschko and then bitching out move seems to have worked for David Gaye ... he can now fight the Ruiz's and the Fraudley Harrison's of the world and consider himself a champ. Maybe Povetkin can now fight Timor Ibragovic for a world title and then avoid the Klitschko's like the plague also.
My only question for Wlad is why Peter ... I think Adamek would jump at the chance to fight him.

Main Events seemed committed to the August Date, with or without Grant, it's strange they didn't even seem interested in getting out of that date and fighting Sept 11th in Germany. I guess they must think a K2 fight, or Haye, is headed their way anyway

Some it has to do with Teddy's ego....he KNOWS his bug lug can't beat Klitschko, so it may make HIM look bad....but when you say, hey, the kid is not ready, what else can be done, except they should have said that BEFORE they signed the contract!

It sounded to me like Atlas didn't have much say in the matter ... they were going ahead with it until K2 won the purse bid and they didn't like the stipulations. Of course Teddy tried to sound as if it was all his decision not to go through with it

How long is the IBF going to keep him at #1? Forever? I think Teddy nailed it on FNF when he said that Povetkin has not had enough fights and has not been active enough....I don't know if it so much with Teddy's ego like Billy said...I think it is more or less Teddy does not want to throw his guy to the lions..As a trainer Teddy has always looked out for the best interest of his guys in the ring....In a business sense Teddy knows that if Povetkin takes this fight and gets slaughtered there is a good chance that the partnership would end rather quickly and that would be a big dent in the pocket book of his in the future.... Atlas knows what he is doing on those ends...Sometimes we forget that this is a guy who was part of turning Tyson into "Tyson" not the shell of a fighter he became when he left those associated with the D'Amato cap and Teddy was the trainer to Michael Moorer who a a great fighter minus the chin

Adamek is in no way ready for either Klitschko right now...Not because Adamek lacks skill because the guy is top rate but in the fact that Adamek is still adjusting to the HW division...His team wants him to be ready to fight the big men...Huge difference between CW/LHW shots and HW shots to be absorbed...Plus Adamek is not the quickest guy around in terms of hand speed so they need to make a few adjustments to help him cope with the power....IMO that is why they are taking the Grant fight...Has nothing to do with progress in rankings more to do with dealing with a guy so much bigger....I want to see Adamek/Haye since the London Fried Chicked won't step in with either of the Brothers Grimm I think that they are having Wlad/Peter again because right now it is all that is out there, plus it could be a way for Wlad to show him dominance and how much he has improved since they fought the first time

The truth is....no one can beat a Klitschko right now. The only one close to MAYBE losing a fight would be Vit....they are too big, too strong and come in shape. We do not have ANY out there now that would be a challenge...including Haye, who would have a HARD time beating Chagaev.

No way does Haye fight Adamek ... hell he left the CW division just so he didn't have to face him

I recall the enthusiasm some had when Lennox retired and how we were going to have a "wide open" HW Division, but we've ended up with a two headed Monster.Vitali is 38 and Wlad is 34, and like Billy says, the only opponent that seems to have a decent chance of defeating them is good old Father Time.
