So will "Too Smooth" beat out "The Captain" for the WBO CW title?
I think mistake number one was taking the fight in Germany the place Godfrey suffered his only loss not too mention we all know in Germany to beat the hometown favorite you need to stop him or be Steve Cunningham.......Personally I don't think Godfrey is ready...He falls in with the crowd that Dawson is in from New England the place these guys don't seem to thrive for long in the sport PLUS as much as I LIKE the guy personally....Over the years John Scully has been like Plague in the corner of fighters...
I think this is an easy night for Huck and a fight that is going to hurt the psyche of Godfrey big time
any opps?

Daxx- I don't like the 11 month layoff AT ALL. A guy who fights like Godfrey needs to be sharp. I've seen Huck probably more than most fans due to Saturday Afternoon Internet feeds of several of his fights, and while he's seldom outstanding, what he is is usually solid. On an even playing field, say a more active Godfrey and a neutral site, I think this would border on a "pick 'em" fight for me, but I'm thinking that with Godfrey probably needing a few rounds to get his form back, and the WBO that usually tends to favor the European fighters with regard to decisions, it would seem as though Godfrey's swimming against the stream. I look for Huck to win a decision.

I like the fight, but I also like Huck in this one. I hope the winner fights Cunningham soon!

Agreed not as if Godfrey is a guy who is the best at anything as it is and the reason he needs to stay busy to keep what he has sharp and help improve on things not too mention his jaw is not the steadiest.....Agreed about the Euros and the WBO ....I meant what I said before especially about Germany...If I was a fighter I would avoid a bout there at ALL cost even if it was a title shot unless I knew I was going to blast the guy out....

I like the fight, but I also like Huck in this one. I hope the winner fights Cunningham soon! No one in the CW division beats Cunningham right now....I mean I really think the guy is that good at the moment....He has 2 losses on his record and one was in Poland against a Polish fighter and it was a SD!!!....The other against a very very good and very big Tomaz Adamek in Adameks adopted USA hometown of Newark where the guy is developing a fanbase almost like that of Gatti.... Cunningham is the man to beat from 176-199 a big big task...Not one that either Godfrey or Huck in my opinion can take on with success...... Though the Ross fight was going shakey for him

I'd like to see Cunningham take on Ross again before anyone else because Ross was taking it to him in that fight.
I haven't seen clips of the first Cunningham/Huck fight ... was it competitive before the TKO12?

Mike- There were some good exchanges very early in the fight, but Cunningham (possibly because he knew he was in Germany) was MUCH More Aggressive than I'd ever seen him before, especially to the Body, which was totally unexpected. Once we got by the early fireworks, USS had Huck BACKING UP and from that point on it was over and it was just a matter of who long Marco could last. It took a hell of a gutsy effort to almost make it to the end, but if I remember correctly, I had it scored like 9-2 and had given Cunningham at least 6 or 7 straight.

Yeah after the first Wlodarczyk fight in Poland I think Steve realized that over in Europe you have to make sure you beat your opp SOUNDLY!!!! but fact that he lost that one by SD tells you he won.....He said he like fighting overseas though...They seem to like him as well...He is recepted well when he makes his entrances
