I mean this is a joke no? Maybe I am the only one who thinks so....I don't know what is worse....The idea Margarito will be able to deal with Manny's speed....The fact it is at 150lbs or the fact Margarito is even allowed such an opportunity.....
I have to question the mindframe of Roach and Manny taking this fight...This is a dangerous fight with ZERO reward.....I think Manny will sting Tony half to death before a stoppage but still anything can happen....
I think the fact Manny is taking this fight against a 5'10" Maragrito at 150lbs rubs Floyds face in the Coward dish for sure

I agree! I think it IS a VERY tough fight for Manny, but I HATE that Marg is even GETTING the chance or the PAYDAY. I also think you are 100% right about Fayweather....it shows that Pac is willing to fight tough and DANGEROUS guys....I know it seems like Pac will box and move all night against a slow opponent, but you can't rule out cheato's power! Too much risk not enough reward.

Credit to the Pacman to take on a tough opponent like Margarito, but Margarito should not have the opportunity to make a good payday. He should be banned from the ring after his disgusting antics, which could have caused permanent damage to a fellow boxer. BillyC the pacman reminds me so much like David Haye is,taking on the best out there.

I totally agree that it's a tougher fight than many people expect unless the remnants of the Mosley beating still resonate with Margarito. Did anyone see his first fight back against Garcia on May 5th? I heard he only looked so-so. I think he's too slow for Manny, but I think he might just be able to score to the body, which not a whole lot of Pac Opponents have really tried doing, he has them head hunting. With Manny possibly distracted by congressional duties, along with the disappointment of this NOT exactly a fight he can get overly excited about, it might just prove to be a problem.
But like most of you, while it might be a good fight in the Ring, it makes me want to Vomit that Margarito is even allowed to fight again, much less this huge opportunity/payday. I'm only a so-so Pac fan, and I've only rooted for him a few times (but usually because I'm a big fan of JMM, Morales, or whoever he will be fighting) but on November 13th nobody EVER rooted harder for Manny Pacquiao than I will be that night!!!!

A slow lumbering Margarito who is being forced to fight at a catch weight ... who also got destroyed by Mosley when he wasn't allowed to cheat.
This is only a tough fight if they allow Margarito his casts ... if not then it is a complete joke. Biggest joke is that it is for an 154lb title yet Margarito isn't being allowed to fight at 154.
Absolute joke and a bigger mismatch than Clottey was.
As I've said before I will root against Manny and Mayweather until they fight each other. But I can't root for Margarito so instead I just won't give them my money.
Joke of a fight ... Arum should be ashamed of himself

Joshua Clottey never lost a fight convincingly until the Pacquiao fight...He was never in a one sided bout nor was he ever outclassed....Clottey is a solid solid fighter who has a granite chin and speed is his only downfall....A quck knockdown by Cotto and the rest of the fight he gave Cotto all he could handle...A DQ loss to Baldomir....He was beating Margarito soundly until he broke his hands....Clottey is not a mismatch for anyone...In fact he is an avoided fighter because the risk is greater then the reward for anyone in the WW division......But the guy on here who knos it all should know that

I'm not going to say much and get in the middle here, but I do agree that we didn't have any indication going into the fight that Joshua Clottey wasn't going to be competitive,he was a Top Five Welter on everybodies list. You might be able to point to Ref Mercante Jr. having to tell him to "fight like a Champion" when he appeared to be complaining more than fighting against Cotto, and say "Well, I knew Clottey had some Dog in him the whole time", but I think that's 20/20 hindsight.

Btw, Daxx, Margarito-Roberto Garcia, his comeback fight two months ago in Mexico is available on You Tube and I think might need to be watched. I wasn't overly impressed, and don't think it's the Margarito your talking about from the past. I still think he presents Pac with some problems even after watching this, but it couldn't be clearer that he needs another couple fights first, and Arum's not giving him any........... I won't give Margarito (or Arum) any of my money, I think it's a crime that he's getting this shot after what he did, but I think he does present some problems going to Manny's Body. Here's the place to start watching Margarito-Garcia and just follow the other links to the right for the other parts: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wyB4TaUmNg&p=4476FE13041DA915&playnext=1&index=28

Boys boys boys....and you too hansen....Margarito IS a tough fight for anyone right now. It IS true that his style on paper is good for pacman, but he size and power will be the issue here which does....on paper....make this a good fight. To me, I DO NOT want to see it only because I do not think Margarito should be allowed to fight at all, but aside from that...it is not a good fight for Pac.
The reason why Margarito lost to Shane was mental. That is why I think he had not only known about the loaded gloves, he had been doing it for a long time. Once he was "exposed" he lost faith in himself and THAT is why Shane ended up KOing him. I agree with Daxx that seeing Shane beat him wasn't the shocker, but seeing him get KO'd was.
As for Clottey....I hate it when people don't give this guy credit. He was ROBBED in his only loses, had NEVER been stopped and was a former world Champion. He gets into a fight with Pac and was over-whelmed with Pac's speed. He did not have an answer for it and went into survial mode...for the first time in his life! The other thing to consider about him is MONEY. After all his sucess in the ring....the poor bastard never made a six figure paycheck until PacMan. Was he "happy to be there"? SHIT YES!

Hey some guys are never the same after a KO loss it destroys the ego and confidence especially fighters who had been able to use the tough beard to get them through shakey moments of past bouts

If you remember correctly it wasn't me bragging about my boxing knowledge ... as I said before if you have to tell someone what you are then you probably aren't. Clottey was an easy fight for Pac ... a fighter who isn't very busy and doesn't move very well and doesn't counter-punch very well. The only thing he has going for him is he is pretty solid defensively ... with Clottey it is always he was doing well but .... really does anyone with any freaking clue think that is a tough fight for Pac? If you do then you aren't giving Pac any credit. Let's see so people say the Mosley win for Mayweather was not a good win because Mosley is old ... yet he smacked the crap out of the next opponent for Pac Man yet OMG this is such a tough fight for Pac. Hell Slappy Williams beat Margarito. Another funny fact is you start out a thread saying Is this a joke ... I, once again, agree with you and then you get all righteous saying Margarito is no joke for anyone ... so which is it "I mean this is a joke no? Maybe I am the only one who thinks so....I don't know what is worse....The idea Margarito will be able to deal with Manny's speed" or "Margarito is not a joke for anyone" or is it just the opposite of whatever I say ... it's hilarious that I keep agreeing with you and you keep arguing ... very typical

FWIW I think I was on record here saying it was an easy fight and Clottey was just too stationary and too inactive to give Manny any problems but then again what do I know about boxing.

also FWIW Margarito couldn't hit that hard ... but casts can ... also Cintron said the same thing about Sergio Martinez so maybe we should consider the source.
A slow plodding Margarito without plaster of paris in his mitts is a very easy fight for Manny .... after the fight I am sure everyone will be raving about Manny's performance, meanwhile, I will have been calling it the whole time.
I hope I am wrong because until they fight each other I want both Manny and Pretty Boy to lose

Well, he did say in his thread starter that " This is a dangerous fight with ZERO reward.....", so it's not like he was calling it a joke and then declaring it highly competitive.
