Maybe not fully (I dont think) but supposedly terms have been agreed upon......This will be a great fight for the 140lb division...While I pick Bradley as Alexander to me just is not waht he appears though I could be wrong this one will for certain get a match up with Kahn for whoever wins and unify the divisions best.......I am excited about this fight anyone else?

Great fight, I think between the best two of the division. I don't like how Khan can sit back and await for the other top guys to fight it out to see who gets to face him though! If anything, Bradley should be the one to do that as the recognised number 1. Anyway, the winner of this fight will beat Khan (Unless he goes running). I'd take Bradley by UD, but I have liked some of Alexander at times.

I see the time of your message as being 4:03 AM my time, if your on at that time of the morning (10 AM for you), then just wait the extra half hour and join us in Paltalk  Yeah, it appears as both Gary Shaw and Don King have agreed to the terms and it just needs to be made official. The tenative date is 1/29, so we've got a bit of a wait coming. I think Bradley's got a bit more big fight experience, and while I think Alexanders Speed and also being a Southpaw might cause him problems, I think he should still be able to beat Devon by decision. Hopefully, we can see the winner about Khan. |

I can't say so as of yet....Especially when you judge who his best performances have been against...His best win is against Kotelnik who is a tough fighter that is no walk in the park but still for all the hype he has garnered you would think Kahn has beaten half the P4P list....I can't really get behind him until he beats at least a few top contenders...If the Maidana fights happens and he wins I will begin to look more favorably on him.... I think this will be a tough fight for both men...I favor Bradley but if Alexander is on point and he is able to deal with the game mentaly that Bradley will bring better then he did with Kotelnik it could be a toss up fight |

Dave, I've no idea when I wrote that message. One morning I was up at 8am, two other days I've woke up at 2pm! Jetlag is definately real lol!! But to be quite honest when I did wake up early, tuning into Billy C was totally forgotten!! I have so much shit to do since coming back. Cleaning clothes, yesterday I bought a car, and I have today and the weekend to prep for Uni starting Monday!!
Daxx, interesting you say about the hype Khan gets. He got that over here immediately after his silver medal win at Athens. But after Frank Warren kept putting him on the main event on prime-time terrestrial tv against tomato cans, people started to see past the hype. The good thing was, when they agreed on a PPV deal with Sky Sports, against another nobody in Prescott, Khan got his arse handed to him in under a minute.
No doubt Khan has talent! But its because of promotors like Frank Warren and Sky who have to seriously overhype a fighter and bullshit the general public into thinking this guy is taking hard fights every fight and breezing through them. It ended up pissing many people off, especially after Khans defeat his remarkable comeback including fighting an Irish journeyman, and an antique Marco Antonio Barrera who was fighting blind from round 2 because of a headbut and they failed to call a halt to the fight on a NC until after the 4 rounds were up when it had to go to the scorecards! Anyway after these 2 wins Khan miraculously is back in title contention and takes on a man he had described a few weeks earlier as "the worst world champion of all time". Kotelnik is tough, but tailor made for a fighter of Khans style.
I think Khan ended up going to the States because he was bored of being held back from the big fights by Frank Warren and also the fact the public had greatly turned against him. Fair play if that was the actual case, but it sounds like Freddie Roach is very similar to Warren in that he'll only put his fighters into winnable fights.

Shame on you Just kidding, I just happened to notice the time on the post. We all know your busy with being back from the trip and starting at the University. As for Khan, I'm wondering if he didn't learn something from watching the Calzaghe-Warren situation play out when he first signed with Frank. He didn't want to see himself undermatched by Warren for years like JC was, and especially when he's losing favor with the UK Fans. We will see how things progress from here under Roach, but I do think those two things are what brought him over here. |

Yeah, Khan was just 18 when he turned pro and Uncle Frank was the man offering him the most cash and so he was the obvious choice to go for. Can't see Khan really understanding how Warren held back Calzaghe, Amir isn't the brightest of kids.

Problem is that too many ex olympians medal winners or not are marketed wrong and have the public expecting too much in advance and when it does not pan out to the hype they feel cheated.....Too many promoters hope they will have the next DLH marketing wise with an olympian....Thing is fighters with the ability to adapt to the pros with such success as Oscar come along all to rarely |

Agreed. The fact is, Khan could've never fulfilled the ridiculous expectations placed on him when he won that Silver Medal at 17. He's having what is a pretty good Pro career thusfar, but it's going to be constantly scrutinized, it's a hard situation to win. I'm reminded of Mark Breland, who by anyone's accounts had a succesful Pro Career with Two World Title reigns, but is seen by a great many as a flop.

Breland is a great example...The DNGG put a lot of pressure on Breland as well...But when you talk about fighters of his era his name rarely is mentioned...He has a decent resume with some good names on it and like mentioned 2 world title reigns but again as mentioned considered by many an underschiever/Flop however you want to call it....Sad that these promoters kill a guys career with the overhype,,,,They are often brought to expectations that are almost impossible to live up to

The thing is, Khans record for his first 15 or so fights is exactly the same if not better than any other prospects or up and comer. It just seemed like people were being stringed along because he was on TV from his very first pro fight, whereas usually a prospect is unheard of until they get to about 15 fights unbeaten.
On another board many people discussed Khan. Alot of people hated him, thought he was being handpicked opponents and that the public were being taken for mugs. But someone comapred the first 15 opponents I think of Khan, Kevin Mitchell and John Murray who were all at a similar point in their careers as prospects.
When taking into account the combined win-loss-draw and average KO % of all three fighters, Khan's record came out on top as the least padded.
Quite interesting really.

Oh for sure Khans record is not horrible as in terms of quality of opp early...You are right there are much worse out there in terms of former amateur stars or Olympians....Likie mentioned before though all the hype on him has made anything he does or will do over the next few years look like he has not lived up to expectations....Not his fault....Then with the hype he gets KO'd and the doubters of course will scrutinize harder....As for Kahn being hated and yes you look around on the web at boxing forums he is one of the most disliked fighters out there but that in case points to Warren,,,,Warren is disliked so any fighter he hyped will be disliked unless they live up to what the hype is on them put out by Warren.....Then if the fighter say's 1 thing not to public appeal it adds fuel to the fire...If Khan had been promoted and Hyped by lets say Lou DiBella the dislike would not have been so high on him nor the expectations because Lou is not as hated.....Peopole want/wanted to see Khan do bad because it meant Warren did bad....Now things change but people still have the taste in their mouth...It is also hard when poeople dislike you to be a favorite when tyou have guys like Alexander and Bradley in the division who come off as great fellows...a No win for Khan to be honest |

But also Khan has done and said some stupid things in the past also which hasn't helped his cause. He does need teaching about good PR and how to conduct himself. I know Khan has been abity of a tool himslef but like I said some of the things would have roolled off your shoulder if he was not with Warren... My FAVORITE Frank Warren momnent and a reason why I will always be a Larrty Merchant fan is when Calzaghe fought Manfredo and Larrty interviewed him after the fight called him out on the quick stoppage and the quality of opp Manfredo was...Asked Calzaghe who he was going to fight next and Calzaghe replied with the normal..."Well my promoter decides that but who ever is next I will be ready and beat then so you will have to ask Frank about that"....Warren who was about 6 steps behind them during the inrterview startes to walkj up thinking he was going to speak on the issue and Larry turned around gave him a dirty look and a "No One wants to hear what you have to say asshole" expression then said..."No were not going to do that" then motioned to Warren to get away...Warren looked so embaressed it was worth a million dollars I wish I had a copy of the moment I would watch it daily |

Sounds awesome! lol, he has a weekly column every Saturday in one of our tabloid newspapers. If he has to talk about a fighter such as David Haye who is not promoted by him he just rips into them and belittles um. Really annoying. Then he hypes his own fighters like they're the next Ali. "James Degale is already getting a shot at his first title in only his 6th bout when he fights for the WBA International super middleweight title".
Yeah nice one Frank, that'll make the general Sun reading public think he's already a genuine champ in such a short time.
