Golden Boy still has those two dates reserved to show Olympians on CBS in Oct and Dec. I hope the hell they're planing on signing some of the British or Eastern European fighters, because featuring anything our amateur program sent to London wouldn't be a very good advertisement for the sport. I think Joesph Diaz has some hope simply because he's so young (and he reminds me of Oscar himself, sans Gold Medal) and I liked the Ramirez kid because he's going to College, working fulltime at Starbucks, and training 90 miles away, but any time spent on the rest of Team USA would be a waste.
Complain about the scoring all you want, but our team was putrid, plain and simple. Worst of all was Michael Hunter the Heavyweight, it'd take a team of top trainers working 24/7/365 for ten years in order to just make him the journeyman his Dad was. Please don't waste my time with him, Raushee Warren, etc. I don't need to see them on network TV.....or ever again for that matter.
boxing in the US stinks! Maybe if we had teachers instead of rah rah men it would be diff
It's amazing how little these kids learn. Watching the Olympics, I was seeing some basic things that even my untrained eyes could see and wondering how supposed "coaches" didn't......and those were our ELITE ams!
