LOL, I watched one of the Redskins pre-season games and they had to waste a challenge on a touchback call that was clearly downed at the four-yard line (I'm not kidding, that's even where they spotted it following the replay, it never got any closer to the endline). Like the players in this clip, they were laughing about it.............but starting Weds Night with the Opening Game, if that call is made during the regular season, some Coach is going to go ballistic, I don't care how much the league tells them to go easy on the Refs.

Bottom line...like everything in life...you get what you pay for! BC- Agreed. That's why I've always felt that Baseball has the best Umpire/Refs, they pay those guys a pretty good wage to do it fulltime. As long as Reffing Pro Football is something that Bank VP's and Businessmen do in their spare time, there's a limit to the quality your going to get, that's for sure.

Was there every a point on that final play when #43 of the Packers DIDN'T have the ball for the Interception??? What a joke!!! As bad as some of the boxing refs and judges are, these NFL replacements are worse...............I understand that some of them were rejects from the Lingere Football League (I'm not kidding, it's true). The photo that ran this morning in every newspaper in the country, with one Ref signalling Touchdown and the other Ref signaling Touchback (both three feet from each other and looking directly at the play) kind of summed up the whole situation.
A multi-Billion dollar product is being diminished by not paying seven Refs a game an extra $500- $1000. The owners need to step-in and quit being cheap, Goddell and Co. have badly underestimated how easy this job is to do.

During the Jets game...there was a catch by the Dolphins that in the replay CLEARLY showed the ball came out and was on the ground. The Jets Challenged it and after 6-8 minutes...they come back and called it a catch....it was the most NO CATCH on replay I ever saw!

Thankfully it's all over, now we can go back to complaining about the regular Refs missing the tough calls, not the simple High School stuff being screwed up.

yes...I guess tonight the real refs are back! I'm not sure about tonights game and whether they can get a permanent crew to the site in time or not, but either way it's looking good for Sunday. Besides, do we really need a permanent crew tonight? It's the Cleveland Browns and they're pretty much a small college team anyway
