Just came from a boxing news website, one of BC's least favorites and one I often ask myself why I even use, and one of the headlines is that Hassim Rahman is in great shape for his "title challenge" with Povetkin. Two things ran through my mind. The first is that I find this information highly skeptical without any details regarding Rahman's weight and conditioning, and second, and more importantly........... IS IT REALLY NEWSWORTHY WHEN A FIGHTER ON THIS LEVEL ACTUALLY IS PROFESSIONAL ENOUGH TO BE IN SHAPE? It's only news because Rahman's made a career of, especially over the last decade, showing up looking like 280 pounds of melted caramel. Shame on the WBA for handing out a title shot to a guy who's living off a single punch older than 9/11. But then this title is a paper one anyway, and we all know what puppies do on paper!

I saw him training the week I was in Vegas. He did not look good. I hope he wins because it will show how much of a farce the WBA is....but still....he is old, fat and slow.

You never know, I think Teddy seems to think so. After he got that paper title that Atlas craved (just so he wouldn't be seen as a Michael Moorer one-trick pony Trainer), he certainly didn't waste anytime divorcing himself and high-tailing it for the hills before the expected crash comes ;D My guess is Povetkin is an ex-Champ sometime in 2013, but I'm pretty sure Hassim won't be his "Waterloo".

As much as I can't stand Rahman.....I kind of hope he wins because it will show how terrible Povet is...AND it WOULD serve the WBA right for even putting Rahman as the mandatory. Let them be stuck with Rahman as a World Champion! How much value is there? He doesn't even have a promoter!

Watched the replay of the fight (see link below), is anyone else amused when Dan Rafael continually rants about Rahman's weight? Dan WISHES he weighed 256, he's probably a flyweight above that ;D P.S. As a former Fat Bastard myself and having lost 130 pounds the last year-and-a-half, I feel like I can finally throw stones at others www.dailymotion.com/embed/video/xtyyzp

I don't know what it weighs, but it's certainly the biggest thing in any room he frequents
