Anyone who thought they'd be seeing Jack Loew on TV again now that Kelly Pavlik is out of the fold, I hope you got a glimpse of ESPN earlier tonight, because that's the last time you'll see his clueless a** on the tube.
It wasn't like Lundy fought a brilliant fight or anything, but have you EVER seen a guy as ill-equipped at slipping a jab as Dannie Williams was? Where was Williams' Jab at, did Jack ever watch Roberto Duran and discover that if you jab with a jabber, it gives him something to think about? Apparently NOT. Apparently the best approach is to just move into the blades of the fan and take them flush.
A good opening round and a dramatic begining was followed by a nine-round boxing lesson between an experienced but STILL not world class fighter in Hank Lundy and a skilled but flawed Amateur Star who really could've used an actual Trainer.
See you around Youngstown, Jack!!!!! Your 15 minutes are up and don't let the door hit you in the ass!

I will say this for Williams....he has a chin! He took solid shots ALL NIGHT LONG and stayed on his feet. Good thing he didn't have to rely on Jack for that! I said on the show many times that he was nothing more than a rah rah man. NOW lets see how good Pavik is....and we can't go by his win over Jaco....

BC- Hmm, I seem to remember your defending Jack once before when I attacked him and you mentioned that he was responsible for Kelly's Am success and simple problems with the basics lay with the fighter himself. Here we have the case of a SECOND Amateur star (Williams was a national Golden Gloves Champion) who got with Jack and then seemed to be void of the most basic fundamentals, it can't be a coincidence, can it? I know Jack Pavlik was instrumental in helping Train his Son in the Ams and took himself out of the situation because he didn't feel qualified as a Trainer and differed to Loew. I'm beginning to wonder if Pavlik Sr. wouldn't have served his Son better by doing it himself and letting this idiot focus on continuing to pave driveways.

I think you are mistaken about my feelings towards Jack! I don't really get to follow the AMs at all, so I would not have poiinted out flaws unless I saw them in the pros. With that said, to me, Jack Loew is nothing more than a rah rah man! I DID say that I thought Kelly had the best 1-2 in the biz...but that was three years ago...I have not seen him use it the way he used to in a long time. I think Kelly's best chance at another shot is working with a guy JUST like Garcia...so we will see.

BC- I do recall your talking about how you thought he had the best 1-2 and was thinking you said that if Loew was all that bad, then Kelly wouldn't have lost that without it's being totally his own blame. Maybe I misread your thinking/posts at the time, it's been awhile now. My main problem with Jack is that he's one of my least favorite species of Trainer, the "We and You"-type Trainers, when things are going well then it's "We" and once the wheels come off and there's a loss or two, then he's no longer riding shotgun, he's jumped off the stagecoach and is pointing fingers. I have one for Jack Loew, and it's in the middle.
