June's usually a hot bed of activity, some of boxings most memorable fights having taken place in June, but this is really an off year. We have some fights, but even the Yankee Stadium contest was more about the venue than actual fight itself. It's kind of the same for Saturday's fight, if it wasn't a part of the Super Six, how excited would you be about an Andre Ward-Allan Green clash? In fact, the whole year itself has been somewhat subpar. We've had some "good fights" but when it comes to something that I would call historically significant, we seem to be lagging. Am I being too cynical?

Yes, back in Jan/Feb it seemed like we had some very good fights to look forward to. 7 or 8 pretty high calibre fights, but in the end none really caught the imagination.
The UK seems to have a "season" and there's generally no fights for a month or so and I think thats round about now, or sometime soon anyway.

I'm excited for it because I can't stand Allan Green and want to see Ward punish him

Yeah, I know the sports seasons are different from country to country. Usually for us, June is pretty active for Boxing since the only sport we have going on is baseball as Basketball, Hockey, and other things wrap up their seaons and the NFL Teams still not even in Training Camp yet. We're having some fights, but they aren't the high level ones normally associated with this time of year.
And Mike, I'm also not a big fan of Allan Green, and the great thing about this is that we won't have to listen to 2 years of excuses after Saturday Night because he'll pick up a third stage loss to Kessler to go with it. Tired of hearing this guy talk, I'm glad he's having to face the music. I know others disagree with me, but the King of the Oklahoma Casinos doesn't belong here.

if Ward just blows him out and KO's him, do they kick Green right out of the tourney?
I expect Ward to win easily but I think an early KO is a longshot at best, but who knows...

Green will quit if Ward beats him easily ... he is a pussy. I love hearing him talk about his colon problems being the reason he lost to Miranda ... didn't know you colon makes you run like a bitch the first time you get hit solid in the first round.
His whole reputation was from the Codrington fight ... Codrington might have been an ok prospect but Green beat him and has fought one other decent fighter since and that was Miranda who he got totally bitched by.
Yet he goes on shows and says everyone is scared to fight him and he is the best SMW out there and blah blah blah .... I want Ward to punish him. I seriously hate this guy.

FWIW Saiko Bika would have whipped his ass if Green didn't pull out to take Taylor's place ....

I do kind of enjoy the way the other five fighters have been so patronizing in their praise of Green and what a great addition he is. I know he's too dense to realize they're blowing smoke, but it's funny to see the looks on their faces. It's like you went up to the teams in the MLB Post Season and said "change of plans, two of you and going to get to face the Baltimore Orioles"

I know ... seriously what has he done to deserve the spot? I guess if you avoid enough top level fighters after getting bitched out by a C level fighter you move up in the rankings ... Remember this is a fool who Donnie McCrary had on Queer Street ... He pretty much went life or death with Simms in his only fight in the last year and his prize was getting a payday for the ass beating I hope he takes ...
Can you guys tell I don't like him? LOL

LOL Join the club, Mike, I've been making the guys sick on other forums with my dislike of Green. Sick of seeing him milk a 18 second ESPN highlight from FIVE YEARS AGO over a guy who wasn't that good to begin with.
