For me, the thing I will remember most from tonights Adamek-Grant fight is the commentator, Colonel Bob Sheridan, screaming about how great fight it was, and how the HW division is alive and well, and mentioning it along with Frazier-Ali III and the great HW fights of all time........and then not having the guts to question the scorecards, when they came in at 117-111 and 118-110, TWICE. I used to get tired of him when he puckered up and walked five inches behind Don King and blew smoke up King's butt when he does the DKP cards, but this was a rare performance even for him.
For the record, I had Adamek winning 115-113, building a big lead and almost frittering it away, but giving him 10 Rounds certainly had to rank as a Robbery and for Sheridan to simply tell us that the right guy won and leave it at that, after he himself was practically orgasmic about how great a fight it had been... well lets just say that it makes the HBO Cheerleading for their "House Fighters" look like rank amatuers.

Did purchase this one ... I take Adamek struggled with Grant's size?

Bob Sheridan was a buffoon, his commentary completely divorced from the action. It was almost as if he was calling the fight how he hoped it might go rather than as it was. And it annoyed me to no end how he and Bontempo pronounced "Adamek" differently. Personally, I say it the Sheridan way (ADD-uh-mech) but if the Bontempo way (uh-DOM-eck) is correct then that's how I want it called. They should work that out in pre-fight meetings and the producer should have corrected whichever guy is wrong.
FWIW, I had Adamek 116-112 but that was watching a streaming feed so I probably missed some of the intricacies. And Adamek would get belted by either of the Klitschkos. Grant had him in trouble and he can't even really fight.

Adamek's post fight comments made it sound like he knows he still isn't ready for the Klitscko's ...

Did purchase this one ... I take Adamek struggled with Grant's size? It was kind of bizzare in that I figured Adamek would struggle early on, but figure it out and wear Grant down late. But just the opposite happened, Adamek moved pretty well and scored early in the fight, and as it wore on then he slowed down and Grant's jab, which had been ineffective in the early rounds, started to find it's range, and opened up cuts on both eyes. I came away thinking that Adamek was a bit lucky that Grant had been so inactive and seemingly rusty. The size did seem to cause Adamek some problems, but I really didn't think it was that big a factor.

I dont even know if it was so much Grants size that gave him problems Adamek just looked shitty all around...Bad night or the HW division really is not the place for him... Haye has speed to help him out and he has more one punch power then Adamek though I think all in all Adamek is a better all rounded fighter but still after last night I ahve to say Haye looks better suited then Adamek...With that performance I can't say Adamek would have beaten Valuev with that showing

I will tell you this....if Grant listened to his corner and used his jab....I think he WINS the fight! There is no way Adamek wins against a Klitschko. His only shot is Haye.

Daxx- I was thinking the same thing. If he had that much trouble with Grant's Jab, I'm not so sure that even Valuev's might not have given him a lot of difficulty. As for Billy C.'s comment about only needing the Jab, I really think he could've just pecked his way to a win, the smallish Ring was made to order for it, and once he FINALLY got it out of storage and started throwing it with some conviction, he started breaking Adamek up. Why he used it sparingly (and pawed with it when he did) in the early rounds, is a mystery.

Come on, Guys, we're breaking down the fight here. The PURPOSE of this thread was to Clown on Colonel Bob's Commentary. The new guy Kkrawhitham was the only one trashing him with me Btw, good point about pronouncing his last name, they should've AT LEAST been on the same page on that. Sheridan was like one of the old Medicine Men from Cowboy Days, trying to con us into thinking his Magic Tonic would cure all ills, only this fight was the Elixer and the HW Division the Patient.

Dave I can't stand the Colonel commentation any fight, usually what I watch rerun fights on SNY or MSG and he is the commentator I mute it.... Somethign about the voice and the whole "Colonel" thing that bothers me....He is always one of the most biasded commentators there is...I mean whoever the favorite is Bob will try to make sound like they are the tops in the bout.... "Adamek swings but misses he misses as a favor to Grant i think he promised Grants Mother he would only hit him 4 times a round, Grant throws Adamek goes down but he isn't hurt don't you believe that for a second he is just trying to make Grant feel like he is doing well in the fight and does not want to discourage him in the future...Boy that Adamek is a great guy all around"...... The man is off the hook

Okay, that's more like it Yeah, I did like it on today's show, I know Davema and I had done some busting on the Colonel when we watched the feed Saturday Night. What I don't like is exactly what Daxx mentioned, he simply HAS to be going overboard about SOMETHING. If he's not able to sell it s the GREATEST FIGHT EVER, then it's only because one of the participants is ONE OF THE GREATEST FIGHTERS OF ALL TIME. Satuday Night we saw a Tale of Two Fights in the Main Event, first the overselling of Adamek in the early rounds that gave way to the pushing of the fight as a Classic when Grant finally started to fight. Beleive it or not, there's a small but unfortunately vocal group that beleives Bob Sheridan belongs in the HOF. True, he's been working for 40 years and done those 900 world title fights, but even when I watched Foreman-Norton in 1973, there were people complaining about the guy.
