Daxx- I'm transfering some of my Tapes to DVD, and the other day I was doing the Tye Fields- Sherwin Williams and saw Manny Steward working with Tye Fields. For anyone who thinks that Manny can just magically make ANY tall fighter a Champion, they need to be reminded he was with Fields Ha ha ha...Well even Einstien was only SO brilliant, everyone even the greats have limits ....Tye Fields just had zero ability to work with...No matter what you taught him he could not execute it...His jabs were even plain out sloppy...He never threw a straight jab in all the fights I ever watched of his...To Boot for a guy his size he could punch about as hard as Valuev....You would think these guys could bang a bit but not them...Volume was Fields speciality...The guy could throw a lot of shits for a man his size i will give him that Yeah, Stamina wasn't Fields problem, I think because he came from a College Basketball background (he started at San Deigo State, but left College early to pursue a Pro career, which landed him in Europe and didn't leave to much success). I know that in addition to Steward, he worked with Jesse Reid, who I think is one of the most underrated Trainers in the game (he usually gets more out of what he has to work with than most of the other, more heralded Trainers do). Once again, we just saw the same "it's too damn late to pick up a second sport" syndrome.

Could have been the case....I remember a KID FROM uNION cOLLEGE that came to our gym and he was a tennis player...Played since he was like 7 or 8....Could not get him to stand proper...Always had to stand with feet apart a bit when he was standing ground and he always got knocked off balance from the punches....Crazy how the body lears one thing and hard as you try it will not change

I saw the Basketball Player Kendall Gill fight once in Chicago, and despite having done some amateur boxing in his teens before going with the hardwood for a career, he just couldn't seem to plant his feet when he punched. He won because the opponent was inept, but I think it's like you say, you adept to doing something instinctively, and that's why these crossover guys ALWAYS fail.
