Well, I sure missed the Contreras upset of Bogere, it'll be interesting to see what the result of Contreras' trip to the hospital reveals. Erik Killin and I watched together while we were scoring in the FightJudge Room and we agree that Contreras took a decent first shot and then when he took that Rabbit Punch that actually landed on the Shoulder, he tried to take advantage and get out of the fight....probably hoping that Jay Nady would give him the Call. I do hope he isn't actually hurt, but lets just say that I'm a bit suspicious.
I DO WISH they'd have had the Refs reversed for the doubleheader though. Jay Nady should've had the first fight, which was pretty easy to work (and to be honest, I wasn't that impressed with Charlo) and then the much tougher style matchup in the Main Event could've been handled by Tony Weeks, who blows Nady out of the Water.
Btw, if he actually did suffer a neck injury, check out the replay and tell me if you thought it might've been just from his neck hitting the rope when Bogere moved in to throw the Rabbit Punch that connected on the shoulder.
Either way, I missed on my pick. Have no idea what Cameron Dunkin saw in Contreras, but I do think, inspite of the win, that Bogere is wild and will get clocked at some point, just not last night and not by Contreras.
Was anyone else not overly impressed with Charlo?

Why do you keep saying it was a "rabbit punch" murph? You too said you saw on the replay it did NOT hit the back of your boy's head. There was nothing illeagal about the punch, especially since Contreas turned his head. I think the shot to the jaw-neck was the shot that put him in trouble and I think he was on his way towards "goin down" when he turned his head, then fell down. The thing is...he was holding the back of his head like it WAS a rabbit punch, but we all saw it wasn't. I'm just not sure why you keep saying it was "the rabbit punch"! AND for the record...the last time I looked...this was not your first incorrect pick.

Contreras did not want to fight anymore...that was obvious in round 2....He was not expecting a aggressive Bogere...Hell I don';t think we as viewers were....He turned his back on Sharif who waas throwing punches in bunches.....Nothing wrong with what happened I watched the 3rd round and slo mos about 25 times in the last 2 days

I don't know Daxx...Contreras WON the first round...lost the second and the third was going Bogere's way...but I'm not sure what he was thinking. I first thought he was pulling a B-hop but may of really hurt himslef during the drop to the canvas....either way...KO win for Sharif and no one can say it was not a legal shot...all of them!

In round 2 Contreras staerted showing signs of not wanting to get into it anymore...he was holding Bogeres arm trying to tie up...Bogere was fighting out of the clinches while FC was looking to the ref to make the distance for him.....I think the kid was in over his head...He is used to being thwe agressor....Bogere is not really an overly aggressive fighter and I just dont think FC was expecting him to be all over him like that....But either way regardless it was all legal...FC turned his back in the middle if an exchange...if he needed a break he should have taken a knee during the barrage and covered on the way to do so...just my opp.....

I hate to say it...but do you think any acting awards should be given?

I hate to say it...but do you think any acting awards should be given? I think so. When a guy grabs his head and then the replay shows he wasn't even hit there, then it indicates he had something in mind. I think he was trying to sell Nady on the idea so as to either get a DQ, a Point, or if he could sell it well enough, a No Contest (since we hadn't gone 4 rounds yet). ALL of those scenarios work to Contreras' favor.......I think it was similar to Cintron laying out on the cement floor and weighing his options before deciding (wrongly) nothing bad could come from simply staying there.

He certainly carried it out Bro! Never getting up and opting to be carried out on a stretcher....
As for acting....I STILL think Campbell gets the tops! That was TERRIBLE what he tried to pull in the Bradley fight. I am so glad he crashed...then burned after that!

Yeah, Nate was a waste, he traded in his whole career just to get out of the one fight, I think it was actually the Boxing Gods that simply looked down from above and decided, "Forget it, Pal, your not getting off so easy"

The thing is, SINCE he has done it...think about ho many more followed! Just off the top of my head...Rahman, Guerrero and B-Hop....but we KNOW there were more!

Yep, it kind of set the standard for backing out of a fight and then attempting to save face at the same time, it's THAT that's been an even worse crime.

The funny part...how DO they think they would save face AT ALL? If someone ELSE stops the fight on their behalf...NOW you save face....fighters are supposed to fight. They picked pro boxing as a career....it goes with the job!
