after Russo....before Stevens...it was a baseball guy...bu he appointed assisants who didn't know a left hook from a fish hook. The guy who really kept screwing me was Ray Locasio. Mel Southard, who I think ran minor league baseball teams if memory serves correct.

He was strange...tall guy who dressed and looked like a "Beat-Nik" from the 1970's BC- I always kind of associated the beatnicks with the 50's and early-60's, by the 70's we'd moved on to Hippies. But then I never met one here in Central Illinois, the only beatnick I can recall was Maynard G. Krebs on the Doby Gillis TV Show (played by Bob Denver before he became "Gilligan").

Right Again Murph! "The Beatnik" was more on the Art-sy set during the late 50's and early 60's and by the early 1970's everyone was a hippie....although the "betnik" appeared to have vanished, now I would look at the escentric Art person as a modern day beatnik...at least IMO as a dummie in all these eras!

Yeah, it's basically the same person from generation to generation but just called something different........right now, I refer to them as "Starbucks Snobs" as they hang out in Coffee Shops or Bookstores that have comfortable chairs and free Coffee

Well, the shift caused by the closing of the local Diners where the old farts used to sit around until noon drinking their post-Breakfast coffee has effected everyone's normal routine The free spirits were forced to flee their natural habitat.
