....but then again, the GOOD thing about the picture is that Sergio ISN'T looking at it, he's looking directly into the eyes of the Pretender to the Throne. Happy Birthday to Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., who turned 50 today, but come Sept 16th, your spoiled little Prince is going down (since he's in Vegas and will have to both take a drug test and actually weigh-in at under Cruiserweight for a change). Why did the WBC strip...I mean upgrade Sergio to the Diamond Champ and then make him WAIT for a "shot" back down at the regular MW Wrld Title Again???

Almost as big a joke as knowing that one of these guys will be allowed to weigh in as a Cruiserweight while the other one is likely to come in under the Middleweight limit, and possibly even under the Jr Middleweight one. Broner gave up nothing when he surrendered his worthless strap via the scales, having the decided edge over Escobedio was well worth the WBO strap (and it's sure as hell worth more than one of the more meaningless WBC and WBA ones would have been). The day before weigh-ins were a noble idea, but we underestimated the lengths to which some would go to create an advantage for themselves. We need to put an end to the Chavez and Broners, who use their position to dictate a huge physical advantage for themselves and fight well under where they should be. Let's level the playing field. |
